Q. How old do you have to be to get a tattoo at your studio?
A. 18 years old with no exceptions. Even with parental consent it is illegal in Texas to tattoo anyone under 18 years of age. You must have a government issue ID. This means a passport, drivers license, or military ID.

Q. Does getting a tattoo hurt?
A. Yes. The pain varies from person to person. Location of the tattoo on the body also affects pain.

Q. Can I drink alcohol or take pain killers before I get tattooed?
A. Do not drink alcohol or take drugs for pain relief purposes prior to your tattoo session. Both aspirin and alcohol thin blood and promote excessive bleeding. Aspirin also decreases the clotting of blood, which will slowdown healing.

Q. Do you do temporary tattoos?
A. No. Get a real tattoo.

Q. How much does it cost to get a tattoo?
A. Our shop minimum is $60.00 and we charge $120.00 per hour. We are not a car dealership and we do not haggle, although we can work within your personal budget if you let us know what it is at your consult. The only way to get an accurate quote for your tattoo is to have a consultation with one of our artists in person. No one can quote your tattoo over email or over the phone.

Q. How should I prepare myself before my tattoo?
A. Please be well rested. Get a good nights sleep. Make sure you eat at least 1 hour before your appointment. Please take your hygiene into account. Take a shower and wash yourself before you come in. No one wants to deal with your stinky feet while tattooing them.

Q. How can I make an appointment with one of the artists at Stainless?
A. Email them. Click on their name under artists and send them an email. You can also call the studio to setup a consultation, or come see us in person. We don’t bite. Expect a reply within 1 – 2 business days. Be patient – remember that the artists are busy people too.

Q. Can I bring my child to my appointment?
A. No. You must be 18 years of age to be allowed in our work areas. Also consider that you will be busy getting your tattoo and will not be able to watch your child during the process, so don’t expect them to wait in the lobby. We are tattoo artists, not baby sitters.

Q. Is there anything you won’t tattoo?
A. We will not tattoo gang related symbols, or racial hate motivated tattoos. We also choose to do tattoos that we know will hold up well over time and look great for years to come. For this reason,we typically do not tattoo the following areas: the sides of the fingers, palms, inside lips, or bottom of feet. We also don’t do all white tattoos or black light tattoos.

Q. Is your Tattoo ink vegan friendly?
A. Yes. We use inks that are organic and vegan friendly!
